What we accept
Original company introduction (Word)

Our beginnings in Klang

The family has managed pawnshops in Malaysia for more than thirty years, under several names. In 2016 those shops were brought under one holding company, P Master Holding Sdn Bhd, and one name, so that a customer walking into one branch gets the terms a customer walking into another gets.

The first shop, in Little India Klang, is still open. Ten of the 13 are in Selangor, one in Kuala Lumpur, two in Pahang.

Licensed pawnbroking

What this means for you

We are a pawnbroker. We are not a moneylender.

The difference is a licence. Ours is issued by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, and it holds us to the Pawnbrokers Act 1972: what we may charge you, how we must warn you, and what has to happen before anything you leave with us can be sold.

Clear chargesRM0.50 per ticket, including renewals

Fifty sen for each pawn ticket, including renewals. No valuation fee or other fees on top of the monthly interest.

The interest itself is regulated and it varies by branch, so it is published in full rather than approximated here.

Renewable termsSix months on each ticket

Every pawn ticket runs six months. Pay the interest due and we print a new one for another six.

You can do that at the branch, or from our app without travelling in, which matters most to the customers who live furthest from a shop.

Notice before an auctionAn SMS seven days before your due date

A text message reaches you seven days before your due date. If the date passes we write to you, and then we call you.

An item goes near an auction only after all three have happened, and nothing about it is sudden.

Safekeeping and redemptionGuarded 24 hours a day

Items are held in bank-standard safe rooms, on premises guarded around the clock. They are released to the person who pawned them, at the branch where they pawned them, against the same NRIC or passport.

The rule is inconvenient exactly once, and it is working for you every other time.
